Strengthen your understanding of disability inclusion and how it applies in a social sector context.

Disability Inclusion

This free session will introduce the social model of disability, explore inclusive practice and help participants consider how their organisation can better support disabled people, whether they be service users, staff, volunteers or board members.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the social model of disability and how it differs from other ways of thinking about disability.

  • Explore the barriers that can disable people and the role organisations can play in removing them.

  • Develop a stronger understanding of inclusive and accessible organisational practice.

  • Consider how disability inclusion relates specifically to social enterprises and third sector organisations.

  • Identify practical ways to make services, communications and organisational practices more inclusive for disabled people.

  • Know where to find further information and resources to continue developing their practice.
